Although cooler temperatures are forecasted for the Concho Valley this week, the National Weather Service has advised the public of potential fire weather concerns for Tuesday, Oct. 15. According to the National Weather Service of San Angelo and Abilene, “Dry fuels, low relative humidities, hot temperatures and afternoon breezes will bring elevated fire weather conditions on Tuesday.” The service warned that afternoon humidity values will decrease to around 15% to 20%, above-normal temperatures in the low- to mid-90s will be felt throughout parts of the Concho Valley and south to southwest winds clocking speeds of 10 mph with gusts of 15 mph will sweep through the region. Dry fuels such as dry grass are also cause for concern.
